Heidi Glaesel Frontani is an Associate Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at Elon University (formerly Elon College) in North Carolina. Dr. Glaesel was a participant in the 1994 GPA program in Tanzania, hosted by Yale University. She conducted her dissertation research in Mombasa for her Ph.D. in Geography, from University of Wisconsin-Madison, on participatory fisheries management near marine protected areas in Kenya. From this research she has contributed an extensive vocabulary of Mombasa marine terms to the Kamusi Project lexicon.
