Membership in the Kamusi Project
Why should you become a member of the Kamusi Project?
There are two main reasons for you to become a member of the Kamusi Project:
1) By knowing that we can count on your modest annual membership dues, we can plan a budget for the project and meet our expenses (servers, programmers, equipment, language expertise, etc) as they arise.
2) To maintain our charitable status, the organization must demonstrate that we have "a broad base of public support." Having a million users a year of our free services does not meet the legal description, but having a few thousand members certainly does. We've set the annual dues quite low so that as many users as possible will be able to join.
We are rolling out Kamusi Project membership during the northern summer of 2010, with our first major membership campaign planned for September. During the next few months, we welcome your insights about how to add value to Kamusi Project membership. For example, we hope to offer special member pricing for Kamusi merchandise.
The first practical benefit is that members can elect one of your own to serve on the Board of Kamusi Project International. In this way, the membership will have a continuous voice in the management and future direction of the project.
Becoming a Kamusi Project member is simple! Just select the currency of your choice from the list below, choose the "subscribe" option, and fill in all the requested information. Please make sure to provide accurate contact information - we will not abuse your trust, but we do need to be able to get in touch with our membership from time to time.
Residents of the United States must select the top button, which will take you to the Kamusi Project USA website to join or donate.
NOTE: US donations will go directly to Kamusi Project USA, which is a US-based 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity registered in Delaware. All donations from other countries go to Kamusi Project International, a Swiss-based tax-exempt non-governmental organization registered in Geneva.
Residents of any country except the United States who wish to join or donate to the Kamusi Project, including US citizens using an address outide of the United States, should do so by choosing your favorite currency from those listed above.
